Manuscript in an attractive 17th-century script, recording the debates of the British Parliament for 1627-1628, including the text of the Petition of Right and King Charles's acceptance, and a manuscript record of the assassination of the Duke of Buckingham, with copies of verses regarding Buckingham and praising Felton, his assassin. The full title reads: A booke of all the speeches, arguments and passages in the Parliamt. begun at Westminster the 17th daie of March 1627 in the third yeare of the raigne of our sou[er]aigne Lord Kinge Charles and continued vntill the 26 daie of June anno d[o]m[ini] 1628. In the fourth yeare of his said Ma[jestie]s raigne. The manuscript is signed Theophilus Moneuensis [?] at the end, with the comment "Little poetrie, lesse pietie, no charitie," signed G.L. Bound in full morocco, with a geometric pattern and the letters "G.I." on the covers in gilt.
